Mindful of the press release of the Sub Divisional Delegate of Agriculture and Rural Development for Wabane dated 23rd of June 2023 herein attached with photos announcing the destruction of Cocoa farms and other crops by caterpillars infestation in Nkong Fondom of Wabane Subdivision, Lebialem Division of the South West Region,
Mindful of our role to accompany farmers,
Bright vision community initiative for sustainable development BRIVCOISUD in collaboration with the Wabane council held an emergency meeting on July 28, 2023 at the Wabane council chambers in the presence of the Divisional Officer for Wabane Mr. CHI Augustine, the Lord Mayor for Wabane council Mr. NEMBO Ketu Israel, the Sub Delegate of Agriculture and Rural Development for Wabane Mr. LEKUNZE Isaac, the Fon of Nkong Fondom Fon EYONG Clement and sum community heads of Nkong Fondom to evaluate the situation and hand some materials to fight the Caterpillars.

Thirteen 13 Knapsack sprayers, thirty 30 pairs of rain boots and thirty litres of insecticides were handed to the Fon of Nkong Fondom and the community representatives to completely eradicate this pests from the Nkong Fondom.
The Divisional Officer for Wabane thanked the CEO of BRIVCOISUD for the prompt reaction to rescue the farmers and pleaded on the beneficiaries to make good use of the materials for the interest of the entire Nkong Fondom.
The Fon of Nkong on behalf of the community thanked BRIVCOISUD for the marvelous job and promise to give a positive feedback.
The Delegate of MINADER Wabane counted himself among the privileged and as Oliver Twist said, they are still waiting for more of such flamboyant gestures from BRIVCOISUD.
