
Bright Vision Community Initiative for Sustainable Development (BRIVCOISUD), a Human Rights Non-Governmental Organization has learned with profound dismay and grave concern of the incident involving the stabbing of the Deputy State Counsel of Tibati in the Djerem Division of the Adamawa Region, by a dissatisfied litigant during a court session.
This egregious event raises serious apprehensions regarding the serenity and safety of courts proceedings, as well as the overall- being of Cameroonian Magistrates. Given their tireless efforts to uphold social harmony, tranquility and equitable
justice, they undoubtedly merit improved working and living conditions commensurate with the dignity inherent to the judicial office.
BRIVCOISUD unequivocally condemns this barbaric act of violence in the possible strongest terms. We urgently recommend that the state of Cameroon consider the recruitment of additional prison guards, whose employment has been suspended for 9 years, and enhancing the working conditions of its Magistrates. Such measures would significantly contribute to fostering the rule of law within the Country
